With 52% of UK and US-based consumers demanding a reduction in the environmental impact of fashion and 47% of global online shoppers prepared to abandon brands who don’t align with their values, sustainability is quickly becoming a strategic priority for apparel brands and retailers.
As part of our on-going commitment to help companies on this journey we are excited to announce the latest in a range of products and solutions aimed at making brands and retailers’ labels and packaging more sustainable.
Following extensive research and development, we’ve launched our C.A.R.E Collection: a comprehensive range of conscious, affordable, responsible and eco-friendly labels that significantly reduce environmental impact without compromising the aesthetics or performance of the label or packaging it is replacing.
All materials chosen for the collection have been selected to help customers;
Replace virgin materials with low-impact alternatives
Source materials that are certified and sustainable
Utilise materials that are recycled and recyclable
Eliminate single-use plastics from their packaging
“As sustainability is an ever-changing landscape, brands & retailers are often overwhelmed and find choosing materials and solutions a complicated task. The C.A.R.E Collection is a culmination of inputs from our technical experts around the world, each feeding in their specific field of knowledge. The goal is to help Brands & Retailers navigate the often-unfamiliar transition towards sustainable development. With this new resource, we are empowering our customers by providing science-led information to inform their decisions and directly aid them in reducing environmental impacts. From recycled materials to cellulosic fibres, our range offers alternatives to make your products more sustainable“, says Jimmy Christopher – Group Sustainability Officer at ITL.
The C.A.R.E. Collection is the second release within our range of planned sustainability solutions. It follows on from our award-winning product re-engineering platform, intelligen™, which has been applauded for its ability to quickly redesign a customer’s labels to ensure maximum efficiency and minimisation of waste; both of which can create significant improvements in cost and environmental impact.
In 2019, we won the Retail Systems award for ‘Best Green Initiative’ for the utilisation of intelligen™ when leading the re-branding of the Principles labels and packaging at Debenhams. The project allowed Debenhams to reduce packaging costs significantly and re-invest the savings into switching to a more sustainable substrate.
Talking at the launch of the C.A.R.E. Collection, ITL’s European Sales and Marketing Director, Simon Phelps, commented “The creation of our C.A.R.E. Collection will provide brands and retailers with some valuable guidance in terms of making the switch to more sustainable materials across their labels and packaging architecture. We recognise the pressures that our clients are under to make this transition but also the challenge they have in minimising their costs. By deploying intelligen™ alongside the C.A.R.E. Collection, we are confident that a brand can meet their sustainability targets without having to pay a premium for that privilege”.
